Celebrating Tech Day of Pink 2020
Company Feature, Oct 7, 2020
When Chief Information Officer Michael W. Smith joined The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) in late 2017, he was inspired by ELC’s Breast Cancer Campaign — the company's largest corporate social impact program with a mission to create a breast cancer-free world. He wanted to create an initiative specifically within the tech community that would support this mission and launched the Tech Day of Pink which is now held annually on the second Thursday of October.

Each year, ELC's IT team rallies the global tech community to participate in Tech Day of Pink to raise awareness of this disease and funds to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). This year, the team took its annual event to new heights with its Virtual Hackathon. Around the world technologists have been brainstorming, coding and hacking their way to a brighter future, developing a technology solution that promotes or enhances global awareness of breast cancer. The winners will be announced on October 8, 2020.
On October 8, ELC invites technologists and IT professionals around the world to participate in our call-to-action.
