We are honored to recognize and celebrate our iconic founder, Mrs. Estée Lauder, on her July 1 birthday. Mrs. Estée was a true pioneer in the beauty industry and she believed in innovative products, personally connecting with consumers and maintaining family values — all of which remain at the core of The Estée Lauder Companies culture today.

It’s no secret that Mrs. Estée’s legacy continues to inspire ELC’s employees. To properly celebrate her birthday, we brought a few employees to the 40th floor of the iconic General Motors Building in New York City, home not only to ELC’s global headquarters, but also to Mrs. Estée’s former office. Designed by Mrs. Estée herself, it remains as it has since she first occupied it in 1969. With panoramic views overlooking Central Park and beyond, the office remains a space of inspiration at the company.
Mrs. Estée’s desk, where she once prepared her industry-changing formulas and handled the affairs of a rapidly growing business, is where seven ELC employees were given a once-in-a-lifetime surprise. Watch as they take in where they are and give an ode to our iconic founder — a woman who changed the beauty industry as the world knows it. On her birthday, it’s remarkable to see how Mrs. Estée Lauder continues to inspire employees at The Estée Lauder Companies today.
