ELC Named to 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

The Estée Lauder Companies has been named to the 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the fourth year in a row. ELC continues to improve its index score, underscoring the company’s fundamental values of respect and inclusion, and collective commitment to driving action and advocacy both at ELC and across industries.
The global survey distinguishes companies committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women’s equality. This year, the number of companies included in the index moved to 380 and includes firms from across 50 industries headquartered across 44 countries and regions.
This announcement comes on the heels of ELC’s recent recognition as “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” with a 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) 2021 Corporate Equality Index. ELC was also recently recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies and received the WWD Beauty Inc’s Social Responsibility Award.
About the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index
The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) and the Bloomberg Gender Reporting Framework provide a unique opportunity for companies to assess their progress towards parity, benchmark against peers and highlight their commitment to gender equality. Bloomberg includes publicly traded companies on the GEI if they meet the universe criteria and have a GEI score above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance across five dimensions: female leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies and pro-women brand. The Bloomberg gender reporting framework is voluntary and has no associated costs. The GEI is a reference index.
