ELC Named to 2019 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

The Estée  Lauder Companies (ELC) has been named to the second annual global sector-neutral Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the second year in a row. This recognition acknowledges the fundamental values of respect and inclusion of ELC, and the company’s collective commitment to driving action and advocacy both at ELC and across industries.

The Bloomberg global survey distinguishes companies committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women’s equality. This year, the number of companies included in the index doubled to 230, and includes firms from 10 sectors headquartered across 36 countries and regions.

This announcement comes on the heels of other ELC’s recent Women’s Choice Awards for “Best Company for Women” and “Best Company for Multicultural Women,” as well as the Forbes’ list of America’s “Best Employers for Diversity 2019.” Among other global rankings this past year, ELC was ranked among Fortune’s “50 Best Places to Work in The Fortune 500,” in China, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and the U.K. & Ireland, and ELC was also featured for the second consecutive year in Indeed’s “Top-Rated Workplaces: The 50 Best” List. Additionally, ELC’s impressive Human Rights Campaign score designates our company as a “Best Place to Work” for LGBTQ equality. ELC is proud to have received this honorable recognition.

Bloomberg’s standardized reporting framework offers public companies the opportunity to disclose information on how they promote gender equality across four separate areas – Company Statistics, Policies, Community Engagement, and Products and Services. Companies that score above a globally-established threshold, based on the extent of disclosures and the achievement of best-in-class statistics and policies, are included in the index.
