The Estée Lauder Companies Scores 100% on 2018 Corporate Equality Index

The Estée Lauder Companies is proud to announce that it has achieved 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) 2018 Corporate Equality Index. In meeting all of the required criteria, the perfect score designates ELC as a “Best Place to Work” for LGBTQ equality.

“Achieving a 100 percent ranking on the Corporate Equality Index demonstrates our enduring commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our employees worldwide. We believe that creating a workplace where inclusion and diversity are deeply valued and embraced allows all employees to thrive both personally and professionally,” said Marilu Marshall, Senior Vice President, Executive Management, Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer.

The company continues to elevate its commitment to Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) in a variety of ways. Recently, President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda signed the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advancing I&D within the workplace. The pledge commits Fabrizio and The Estée Lauder Companies to expanding unconscious bias education and developing accountability systems to measure progress. In signing the pledge, Fabrizio joins the CEO Action Committee, which provides an external network to strengthen ELC’s existing programs and commitments to better serve our employees and collective society as a whole.

The Estée Lauder Companies is a longtime pioneer of LGBTQ equality and was proud to be amongst 400 companies that signed an amicus brief encouraging the U.S. Supreme Court to rule in favor that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide in 2015. In the 16 years that HRC has been conducting its surveys, this is the ninth time that the company has achieved a perfect score.
