Company Ranks Among “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality” 

December 8, 2016 -- The Estée Lauder Companies is proud to announce that it has achieved a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index, the most distinguished U.S. benchmarking report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). This year, ELC joins the ranks of 517 major U.S. businesses achieving a perfect score and qualifying the Company as a "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality."

The Corporate Equality Index evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community.

“This recognition from the Human Rights Campaign is a validation of the progress we are making as we strive to meet the needs of LGBT employees and be an employer of choice for the best LGBT talent worldwide,” said Marilu Marshall, Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President, Global HRBP, Regions and Channels.

The Estée Lauder Companies is a longtime pioneer of LGBT equality and was proud to be amongst 400 companies that signed an amicus brief encouraging the U.S. Supreme Court to rule in favor that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide in 2015. As part of its Inclusion and Diversity initiatives, the Company established a LGBTQA Employee Resource Group called wELCome. Recent highlights for wELCome include major events for Pride month in June 2016 and a continued partnership with the Tyler Clementi Foundation, whose mission is to end bullying for vulnerable youth.
