Taking Action Together to Defeat Breast Cancer

Company Feature

September 30, 2016 -- Today, The Estée Lauder Companies officially launches the 2016 Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign encouraging people worldwide to Take Action Together to Defeat Breast Cancer.

This year’s Campaign spotlights the true impact of togetherness by connecting a variety of contributors who bring their diverse backgrounds to the global BCA Campaign community. The powerful perspectives from these new voices will come to life on BCAcampaign.com and across the Campaign’s social media channels (@bcacampaign), with the goal of encouraging people to take action and create meaningful change in the fight against breast cancer year-round.

To kick off the launch and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Elizabeth Hurley, longtime Global Ambassador for the Campaign, will ring the closing bell on behalf of The Estée Lauder Companies at the New York Stock Exchange and illuminate the iconic Empire State Building pink. The BCA Campaign will also continue its tradition of illuminating other landmark buildings around the world to bring further attention to the importance of breast health.

The 2016 BCA Campaign

Devoted to the mission to defeat breast cancer through education and medical research

About The BCA Campaign

The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign was founded in 1992 by the late Evelyn H. Lauder with the launch of the Pink Ribbon, the universal symbol for breast health. Devoted to the mission to defeat breast cancer through education and medical research and currently active in more than 70 countries, The BCA Campaign has raised more than $65 million globally to support research, education and medical services; with more than $50 million funding 200 medical research grants through BCRF. In addition to private donations, funds are raised through employee activities and donations, Pink Ribbon Product sales and contributions from many of The Estée Lauder Companies’ iconic brands.

"Our longstanding commitment to defeating breast cancer is a powerful source of pride at The Estée Lauder Companies – spanning continents, cultures and languages. Each year, our employees, consumers and partners from around the world come together to enhance awareness, raise funds, and inspire meaningful action to fight this disease," said William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.
