Since the benefits enhancements were introduced, ELC employees have shared their feedback on how these best-in-class, family-first policies helped them thrive both inside and outside of work. Here are some of their unique stories.

“These policies have greatly impacted my work-life balance. It’s hard to express just how appreciative I am to ELC for giving me all that valuable time off with my newborn baby. When I came back to work I was fully energized, motivated and even more dedicated to my job!” – Stacy, Education Coordinator, Aveda

“It was a life-changing experience to spend nearly half-a-year off, paid, to care for my new baby and be with my family. I’m so grateful for that time, those memories and ELC for giving them to me. I feel valued as a human being… Choosing to become a mother and take a leave of absence is nerve-wracking when you consider how it might impact your career. But with this leave policy I felt secure, safe and valued in my position.” – Amy, Associate Director, R&D Skin Care, Clinique

“Having more time with my family after the birth of our second child helped us settle into new rhythms and spend time encouraging the connection between our two children. By the end of my leave, I was excited and energized to return to work and ready to take on a new professional challenge, knowing that my family life was settled and well-organized.” Amber, Senior Vice President & Global General Manager, Bumble and bumble

“The new and enhanced benefits reiterate that ELC is a family company that supports its employees. I was proud to work for ELC before having my daughter, but now I am proud and thankful to be a working mom at the company.” - Casey, Manager, Global IT Operations & Strategy

“ELC allowed me to bond with my baby and figure out how to be a mom for nearly six months – at full pay! I didn’t have to worry about job security or not being able to pay my bills... I got to simply be a mom. It was the greatest gift.” – Megan, Retail Manager, M·A·C

Employees Share Their Stories

Bree and her family

“My daughter was two weeks old when ELC began its Enhanced Parental Leave Benefits last year. I received a letter in the mail saying my leave had been extended from three months to almost six months. I had to read it several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming… To this day I remember the feeling when I told my fiancé. We were beyond thankful.” – Bree, Senior Analyst, Global Interconnected Retail, Information Technology

Pablo and his family

"I was able to spend time not only with my newborn, but also with my older son. The arrival of a new member affects everyone in the family, therefore I tried to spend quality time with both of my kids. These benefits make you feel that you work at a company that truly cares about its employees." – Pablo, Pricing Manager, Finance, Travel Retail

Cathy and Luca

"I’ve been fiercely supported and nurtured by my incredible team at M·A·C Global Education, and I feel so proud to work at ELC! I was pregnant when I heard the news about the benefits being enhanced and I felt victorious, as if I had won something! And I did. I won the gift of time." – Cathy, Manager, Digital Education Operations, Global Education, M·A·C Cosmetics

Lizzie

“When I found out I was pregnant late last summer, I was cautiously excited. It had been a long journey to get to that point, so we were just hoping everything would work out. Once it was clear that things were progressing well, I was so grateful that I would be able to take 20 weeks of parental leave. We are so lucky that ELC truly ’walks the walk’ when it comes to appreciating our people. Being a mom has been wild and wonderful – unlike anything else I’ve ever done before.” – Lizzie, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Global Communications

The Estée Lauder Companies' culture is rooted in the Lauder family values. As a family-company, ELC is exceptionally proud to offer eligible US-based employees these family-related benefits.
